Step into the world of William Gardiner, the Dundonian working-class poet and amateur botanist. Mr Gardiner, born at the Overgate in 1808 was a working-class poet and self-taught Botanist who’s legacy has lived on through his incredible contribution to the field of documenting local botanicals in Tayside and Angus.

From modest beginnings and without the privilege of formal education, Mr. Gardiner's fascination with flora blossomed into a literary journey. He penned numerous books and poetry, each a heartfelt tribute to his readers, whom he knew personally by name and lovingly referenced in every volume.
